The CalChess State Scholastic Championship will be held from May 1-3, 2009 in Parkside Convention Center at 180 Park Ave., San Jose, CA 95113.

This year we are featuring more prizes than ever before. You may use this website to find out more information about the event as well as to register when registration opens in December. You may also get familiar with the site navigation in the header and the sub-navigation on the right.
We need your help to offset the increasing cost of running this tournament please refer any sponsors to us. Sponsorship information is available on this website and I will be happy to meet and talk to prospective sponsors for what we can do to make it worthwhile for them.
This event will use the April 2009 USCF Supplement Rating. Any player may play in a higher rating (or age group) but not vice versa.
We have commitments from the best Tournament Directors but need more volunteers to help make this event a success.

The State Championship attracts over a thousand players from 4 to 18 years old from all over California as well as from other States and countries. This year friends and family can also compete in the event.
